MAKKAH – Sheikh Abdurahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, slammed the tirade against Saudi Arabia over the accidents of crane crash at Haram and the Mina stampede.

Delivering Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Al-Sudais, imam and khateeb, said that no individual or entity has the right to make these accidents a tool for propaganda or indulge in blame game. “It is unjust and unfair to belittle all the great efforts and achievements made by the Kingdom in serving the pilgrims in the name of an accident or incident. The malicious media campaign unleashed against the Kingdom over this was part of a desperate attempt by a miserable group with an eye on some gains,” he said.

Al-Sudais criticized those who spread rumors about the unfortunate incidents. “The land of the Two Holy Mosques is sparing no efforts to offer the best ever services to the pilgrims. The government is decisive and not lenient toward those who attempt to undermine the Kingdom’s security and safety,” he said adding that the massive projects implemented and the sublime services being extended by the Kingdom for the Guests of God are the best fitting answer to those behind the campaign.

Al-Sudais emphasized that Saudi Arabia would continue to remain an oasis of stability and security by foiling ulterior designs of enemies. He also called for standing united in defeating terror acts such as killing worshipers by triggering bomb blasts at mosques, and targeting even relatives.

“These people are doing great harm to the image of Islam as a religion of moderation, tolerance and humanity by their acts in the name of Islam,” he said while urging parents to safeguard their children from straying to deviant ideologies represented by Daesh (so-called IS) and other outfits.

Even in the backdrop of these painful incidents, we should not forget our core issue of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Sudais said while urging Muslim leaders and the world’s decision-makers to intervene decisively to stop the Zionist atrocities and inhuman acts against Muslim brothers in Palestine.

Al-Sudais also slammed the world’s inaction over stopping the Syrian crisis, saying that the largest ever humanitarian catastrophe in the modern world enters its fifth year with no effective move to save the Syrian people from the machine of killing, destruction and mass migration.

At the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Abdul Bari Al-Thubaiti warned the believers against being fallen into the traps of Satan and intriguers. “Blowing up of incidents and spreading of lies with ignoring achievements are the traits of intriguers. The acts of these people resulted in springing up of terrorist outfits in the Muslim world,” he pointed out.
